About Ann E Robson
DAKATAMA Country is home to the things that are close to the heart. Ann Edall-Robson was raised in a world of small towns and ranching known as the Cariboo Region of British Columbia, Canada. She later migrated to Alberta which brought with it many changes; the biggest of those was living in the city. The old saying "You can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl." is very fitting for this lady.
Life in the Cariboo taught Ann respect for people, an appreciation of her surroundings and a gratitude for what they both offered. Ann participated in gymkhana and rodeo events and it was there that she started taking pictures with her Kodak Instamatic Camera. A little too gutsy sometimes, she wasn't afraid to be where she shouldn't in order to get that perfect picture.
Ann is a finalist for the City of Airdrie Mayor's Night of the Arts Award in the category of Alberta College of Art and Design Emerging Artist. Nominated for her book Moon Rising which showcases the pairing of her pictures and her written work.
Her love for rural life, small towns and back roads are the foundation Ann has brought with her on this photographic journey. A journey that lets you see life, nature and our western heritage through her eyes.
